Our Story
What started as a passion for skiing has turned into a staple in the northwest ski industry for more than 30 years. When we opened our doors in 1980, Tom had a dream of bringing the joy of skiing into the northwest on a day to day basis. His original Mini Mountain idea started small in a corner of Don’s Mountain Shop, a one ramp business that slowly gained attention. As Mini Mountain grew, so did the drive to make it accessible to more and more families.
Mini Mountain opened our Bellevue location in 1983 and eventually added a second and third ramp. In addition, we opened our on-snow classes at the Summit at Snoqualmie. Over the years, we’ve added rental equipment, summer rock climbing, outdoor adventure camps and our ever growing half day indoor summer ski camps.
Mini Mountain has been featured on news stations across the Pacific Northwest, has won numerous local awards for their family friendly activities and has gained national recognition as a premier place to learn to ski, all year round. Mini Mountain is a family-run business (truly family-run as both Tom’s two adult children also work there) who is well-established in the Eastside community and has brought the joy of skiing to thousands.
